Jamaica Bahama Imports was officially established on October 13, 1994 by Winston Pinnock in Nassau, Bahamas but informal trading began in June 1994 with six Jamaican products.
Jamaica Bahama Imports Ltd. is a wholesale grocery distribution company with its head office located at 21 Oak Street, Freeport, Grand Bahama. The company offers well over 100 food items for distribution to local and national food chains. Among the company’s best-selling items are JBI Coconut Water, JBI Corned Beef, JBI Corn, JBI Fruit Juices, JBI Rice, and a wide variety of JBI peas and bean products. JBI products are uniquely formulated in the Bahamas and manufactured in 21 countries worldwide.
Officially established in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas in October 1994 by its president Winston George Pinnock with only 6 products which he sold from the back trunk of his car.. The items were Irish Moss, Castile Beauty Soap, and 4 flavors of D&G Soda.
The head office of Jamaica Bahama Imports was built and officially opened in Freeport, Grand Bahama on April 15th, 2006. The business has expanded with the opening of a new office and warehouse facility in Nassau, Bahamas on April 15, 2013. Optimistic about the company’s future, its Presidents says that the start of the Business came about as a result of wanting to link the Jamaican and Bahamian cultures through products offered and working partnerships. Currently, products of JBI are sold in the Bahamas, Canada, London and Jamaica, while a distributor has been identified in the United States with plans of offering items there.
